Application of Comparators in Modern Power System Protection and ControlIOSR Journals
This document discusses the use of comparators in power system protection and control. It describes two comparison techniques - amplitude comparison and phase comparison. Amplitude comparison produces an output proportional to the amplitude difference of input quantities, while phase comparison produces pulses proportional to the phase difference. The document shows how amplitude comparison can be modified to perform phase comparison. It provides equations to model impedance, Mho, and offset Mho relay characteristics using phase comparison. Examples of applications include over/under voltage protection using a voltage comparator circuit. In conclusion, comparators are widely used in power system protection applications.
1) The document proposes a new vertically-aligned in-plane-switching (VA-IPS) LCD mode that can improve optical performance over traditional VA modes by controlling the tilt angles of LC molecules using different distances between in-plane switching electrodes.
2) It combines the VA-IPS mode with a T-T type dual data driving scheme and charge-shared structure to further enhance picture quality at oblique viewing angles by creating an extra voltage difference between electrode pairs.
3) Simulation and experimental results show the proposed VA-IPS mode achieves very small oblique gamma distortion and a low TRDI index of 0.13, indicating much better color washout performance than current 8-domain PSA VA modes
High Speed, Low Power Current Comparators with HysteresisVLSICS Design
This paper, presents a novel idea for analog current comparison which compares input signal current and reference currents with high speed, low power and well controlled hysteresis. Proposed circuit is based on current mirror and voltage latching techniques which produces rail to rail output voltage as a result of current comparison. The same design can be extended to a simple current comparator without hysteresis (or very less hysteresis), where comparator gives high accuracy (less than 50nA) and speed at the cost of moderate power consumption. The comparators are designed optimally and studied at 180nm CMOS process technology for a supply voltage of 3V.

IRJET - Optimizing a High Lateral Misalignment Tolerance of the Short-Ra...IRJET Journal
This document analyzes different capacitive compensation topologies for optimizing lateral misalignment tolerance in inductive wireless power transfer systems. It compares the series-series, parallel-series, series-parallel, and parallel-parallel topologies through analytical and experimental methods. The results show that the series-series topology provides the best optimization as it has independence of resonance frequency from misalignment, high voltage and current gains, and zero phase shift at any misalignment, leading to lower switching losses.
A circuit technique for designing a compact low-voltage current-mode multiplier/divider circuit in CMOS technology is presented. It is based on the use of a compact current quadratic cell able to operate at low supply voltage. The proposed circuit is designed and simulated for implementing in TSMC 0.25-m CMOS technology with a single supply voltage of 1.5 V. Simulation results using PSPICE, accurately agreement with theoretical ones, have been provided, and also demonstrate a maximum linearity error of 1.5%, a THD less than 2% at 100 MHz, a total power consumption of 508 W, and -3dB small-signal frequency of about 245 MHz.
A New Proposal for OFCC-based Instrumentation AmplifierIJECEIAES
This contribution puts forward a new voltage mode instrumentation amplifier (VMIA) based on operational floating current conveyor (OFCC). It presents high impedance at input terminals and provides output at low impedance making the proposal ideal for voltage mode operation. The proposed VMIA architecture has two stages - the first stage comprises of two OFCCs to sense input voltages and coverts the voltage difference to current while the second stage has single OFCC that converts the current to voltage. In addition it employs two resistors to provide gain and imposes no condition on the values of resistors. The behavior of the proposed structure is also analyzed for OFCC non idealities namely finite transimpedance and tracking error. The proposal is verified through SPICE simulations using CMOS based schematic of OFCC. Experimental results, by bread boarding it using commercially available IC AD844, are also included.

Modeling of a Microwave Amplifier Operating around 11 GHz for Radar Applicati...IJECEIAES
The low noise amplifier is one of the basic functional blocks in communication systems. The main interest of the LNA at the input of the analog processing chain is to amplify the signal without adding significant noise. In this work, we have modeled a LNA for radar reception systems operating around 11 GHz, using the technique of impedance transformations with Smith chart utility. The type of transistor used is: the transistor HEMT AFP02N2-00 of Alpha Industries®. The results show that the modeled amplifier has a gain greater than 20 dB, a noise figure less than 2 dB, input and output reflection coefficients lower than -20 dB and unconditional stability.
IRJET- Implementation of Modified H-Bridge Multilevel Inverter Topology f...IRJET Journal
The document proposes a new seven-level inverter topology based on a modified H-bridge converter for use in solar photovoltaic systems. The proposed topology requires only eight switches to generate seven voltage levels, compared to twelve switches needed in conventional cascaded H-bridge topologies. Simulation results in MATLAB demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed topology, showing it can produce a seven-level output voltage waveform with less than 2% total harmonic distortion using a small filter. Experimental validation with a 10W solar panel and resistive load verifies the simulation results.
Minimum Component Based First-Order All- Pass Filter with Inverting and Non-i...IDES Editor
In this paper, a new voltage-mode first order allpass
filter using minimum active and passive components is
presented. The proposed circuit employs one fully differential
second generation current conveyor (FDCCII), one grounded
capacitor, one resistor and offers the following advantages:
the use of only grounded capacitor which is attractive for
integrated circuit implementation, low active and passive
sensitivities, providing inverting and non-inverting voltagemode
all-pass responses simultaneously from the single
configuration and no requirement for component matching
conditions. The theory is validated through PSPICE
simulation using TSMC 0.35μm CMOS process parameters

We propose in this frame work an algorithm of simulation based on mathematical expressions obtained previously. We propose a new mobility model describing the electric field-dependent. The predictions of the simulator are compared with the experimental data [1] and have been shown to be good.

DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF ANALOG MULTIPLIER WITH IMPROVED LINEARITY VLSICS Design
Analog multipliers are used for frequency conversion and are critical components in modern radio frequency (RF) systems. RF systems must process analog signals with a wide dynamic range at high frequencies. A mixer converts RF power at one frequency into power at another frequency to make signal processing easier and also inexpensive. A fundamental reason for frequency conversion is to allow amplification of the received signal at a frequency other than the RF, or the audio, frequency. This paper deals with two such multipliers using MOSFETs which can be used in communication systems. They were designed and implemented using 0.5 micron CMOS process. The two multipliers were characterized for power consumption, linearity, noise and harmonic distortion. The initial circuit simulated is a basic Gilbert cell whose gain is fairly high but shows more power consumption and high total harmonic distortion. Our paper aims in reducing both power consumption and total harmonic distortion. The second multiplier is a new architecture that consumes 43.07 percent less power and shows 22.69 percent less total harmonic distortion when compared to the basic Gilbert cell. The common centroid layouts of both the circuits have also been developed.

This paper describes the architecture of second
generation current conveyor (CCCII)and designing an
amplifier using second generation current conveyor. The
designed amplifier through CCCII+ can be used in various
analog computation circuits and is superior in
performance than the classical opamp. It provides better
gain with higher accuracy. The presented approach over
here is to design current amplifiers and voltage amplifiers
using current controlled current conveyor (CCCII). The
second generation CCCII has the advantage of electronic
adjustability over the CCII i.e. in CCCII, the X-terminal
intrinsic resistance can be adjusted througha bias current
is possible. The CCCII has been designed to work both as
current amplifier and voltage amplifier. Various
simulations have been carried out to obtain the desired
results.

Living in 21st century in itself reminds all of us the necessity of police and its administration. As more and more we are entering into the modern society and culture, the more we require the services of the so called ‘Khaki Worthy’ men i.e., the police personnel. Whether we talk of Indian police or the other nation’s police, they all have the same recognition as they have in India. But as already mentioned, their services and requirements are different after the like 26th November, 2008 incidents, where they without saving their own lives has sacrificed themselves without any hitch and without caring about their respective family members and wards. In other words, they are like our heroes and mentors who can guide us from the darkness of fear, militancy, corruption and other dark sides of life and so on. Now the question arises, if Gandhi would have been alive today, what would have been his reaction/opinion to the police and its functioning? Would he have some thing different in his mind now what he had been in his mind before the partition or would he be going to start some Satyagraha in the form of some improvement in the functioning of the police administration? Really these questions or rather night mares can come to any one’s mind, when there is too much confusion is prevailing in our minds, when there is too much corruption in the society and when the polices working is also in the questioning because of one or the other case throughout the India. It is matter of great concern that we have to thing over our administration and our practical approach because the police personals are also like us, they are part and parcel of our society and among one of us, so why we all are pin pointing towards them.

ROLE OF SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN RURAL DEVELOPMENT OF INDIA - PROBLEMS AND ...IAEME Publication
The majority of the population in India lives in villages. The village is the back bone of the country. Village or rural industries play an important role in the national economy, particularly in the rural development. Developing the rural economy is one of the key indicators towards a country’s success. Whether it be the need to look after the welfare of the farmers or invest in rural infrastructure, Governments have to ensure that rural development isn’t compromised. The economic development of our country largely depends on the progress of rural areas and the standard of living of rural masses. Village or rural industries play an important role in the national economy, particularly in the rural development. Rural entrepreneurship is based on stimulating local entrepreneurial talent and the subsequent growth of indigenous enterprises. It recognizes opportunity in the rural areas and accelerates a unique blend of resources either inside or outside of agriculture. Rural entrepreneurship brings an economic value to the rural sector by creating new methods of production, new markets, new products and generate employment opportunities thereby ensuring continuous rural development. Social Entrepreneurship has the direct and primary objective of serving the society along with the earning profits. So, social entrepreneurship is different from the economic entrepreneurship as its basic objective is not to earn profits but for providing innovative solutions to meet the society needs which are not taken care by majority of the entrepreneurs as they are in the business for profit making as a sole objective. So, the Social Entrepreneurs have the huge growth potential particularly in the developing countries like India where we have huge societal disparities in terms of the financial positions of the population. Still 22 percent of the Indian population is below the poverty line and also there is disparity among the rural & urban population in terms of families living under BPL. 25.7 percent of the rural population & 13.7 percent of the urban population is under BPL which clearly shows the disparity of the poor people in the rural and urban areas. The need to develop social entrepreneurship in agriculture is dictated by a large number of social problems. Such problems include low living standards, unemployment, and social tension. The reasons that led to the emergence of the practice of social entrepreneurship are the above factors. The research problem lays upon disclosing the importance of role of social entrepreneurship in rural development of India. The paper the tendencies of social entrepreneurship in India, to present successful examples of such business for providing recommendations how to improve situation in rural areas in terms of social entrepreneurship development. Indian government has made some steps towards development of social enterprises, social entrepreneurship, and social in- novation, but a lot remains to be improved.
